"While our core purpose is to educate, it is our responsibility, both morally and legally to ensure a safe environment for the children in our care and the Staff we employ. It was in the light of this that we decided to look for assistance to assess our existing emergency plans for relevance and compliance to the most recent Australian Standards.

I had recently seen the work EMQ had completed at another school and had no hesitation in engaging them to put a similar program together for us.

EMQ prepared a customised package for St Martin de Porres School. The format used for all their products was simple to understand and use and were obviously designed with children in mind.

EMQ also trained the ECO Warden Structure in the implementation of the procedures. The training session gave the entire Staff an understanding of the roles and responsibilities they have in an emergency.

As a result of the work of EMQ, our school is now fully compliant with the current Australian Standards and I am confident we are able to provide a high level of safety for all pupils, Staff and visitors to our school. I would suggest every school should implement such a program and would be happy to endorse the work EMQ has done with St Martin de Porres Primary School, Laverton."
